Easy Houmous Recipe | Vegan
If you buy houmous at the supermarket it’s always pretty greasy and it’s quite expensive as well. So I’ve got this really easy houmous recipe for you and it’s even very tasty, too!
I love using houmous for basically everything. As a dip for my breadsticks and vegetables, as a spread on my bread but I also use it as a topping for my salads or as a sauce with my dinners. Just try to experiment with it and you’ll see that it goes with nearly everything.
Easy Houmous Recipe
- 1 can of chickpeas
- 2 tsp tahini
- 1 garlic clove
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp paprika
- Rinse and drain the chickpeas, important: keep the chickpea water!
- put all the ingredients into a blender, plus 4 tablespoons of the chickpea water
- blend until everything is smooth
- put the houmous into a serving dish and enjoy 🙂
If you put the houmous into an airtight container it’ll stay fresh for about 4 days. Don’t forget to put it into the fridge though. 😉
To make it look a bit prettier I topped it with some fresh chives from the garden and more paprika. Yummy! You can use whatever you like for this. If you keep a few chickpeas you can use them as a topping, too. Or try some coriander. So it looks nice even in a plastic container! 😀
