My New Years Resolutions For 2019

My New Years Resolutions For 2019

Happy New Year! We are already halfway through January (what?!) and I still haven’t written down my New Years Resolutions for 2019. Well, this is going to change now, yay!

1. Get That Body Moving

It’s not a secret, I’m lazy as heck. So my resolution is not to suddenly work out all day everyday but to simply move my body more. Walk instead of taking the bus, go on longer walks at the weekend, simple things like that.

I do have a bigger goal though, I really want to follow the ‘Couch to 5k’ program and get myself to run 5k without dying, haha. So if anyone has running tips please send them my way!

To see how I’m getting on with this New Years Resolution make sure to follow me on Instagram, I will be posting about that on my stories! (Hopefully, haha)

2. Keep Up With Uni Assignments

I’m currently in my second year of uni and I’m really feeling the pressure. The first year felt like we were all wrapped in bubble wrap, we did have assignments and those got marked but the marks aren’t counting towards the degree at the end. That means that last year the marks ‘didn’t matter’ as much but I still put lots of effort into it. The marks were good and I’m actually quite proud of it!

I went to uni in Germany and failed miserably, it just wasn’t for me. To me, uni here then meant feeling anxious about failing a lot and when the first marks came in I realized that I chose the right thing, writing the assignments was something I even enjoyed, crazy, right?!

So now in second year I want to keep up the good marks as they now actually make a difference! Every mark counts towards my degree which I want to be good. It will be hard work but I’m pretty sure I can do it!

4. Socialize More

This goal is my biggest personal goal I think. I generally have never been great at responding to texts, etc. and now that I live in London this means that I have lost contact to too many people I used to spent my time with regularly. And what can I say, it hurts!

Here in London I also struggle finding people I connect with (apart from my fiance, obviously). Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with my partner but sometimes I wish I had a vegan bestie who wants to go to all the vegan events and cafes with me. Of course I also get along with omnivores but veganism is such a big part of my life now that I sometimes miss a friend who has the same passion about this as I do.

People usually describe me as quite chatty and sociable but for some reason I just struggle getting to know people and then keeping in contact with them. So this year that HAS to change, I want to find people I genuinely connect with and make an effort to stay in touch!

4. Build My Brand

This is something I am a bit scared of saying out loud, what even does I want to ‘build my brand’ mean?! Well, I wouldn’t say I am the brand but I would love to make The Vivid Vegan into something BIGGER. I want to do something good and help people to make small changes to their lives, for their own sake but also for the animals and the environment.

At the moment I don’t have a certain idea of what exactly this ‘brand’ should be but there are some ideas floating in my head that I am trying to match together.

Building my brand also means that I want to start making a small income from my blog and Instagram. This may sound absolutely ridiculous at the moment but I think that it is possible if I work hard enough. And if it doesn’t happen this year, then maybe in 2020 or the year after and that’s okay, too. I just want to start working on it, I’m feeling so motivated and inspired and can’t wait for the things that 2019 has planned for me!

So, this is a short overview of my, I would say, rather ambitious New Years Resolutions for 2019. I am very excited about 2019 and the things waiting for me, I already have some things planned that I can’t wait to share with you!

Monique xx
